I think the best way to explore the city is via sightseeing bus that takes the boarders around the city and covers all the major city attractions like the Shanghai Zoo, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, and Baoyang Road Harbor. Walking around the city and exploring its various aspects is also a great idea.
